Relay Information

EMR Relay Championships will be held at Nunawading on Sunday 24 November 2019. Entires close on November 7.

The State Relay Championships will be held on Saturday 14 December at Casey Fields, Berwick.

All children in the U9 - U15 age groups are eligible to compete at the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) relays.  EVERY child is welcome to join a relay team. If a group of 4 kids independently come together as a team there MUST be a corresponding parent to act as team manager for the group of 4.  Where we have odd numbers the committee will work to group those kids together to ensure they run in a mixed gender race or combine age groups

Athletes are allowed to compete in a maximum of three events for the day.  Events include 4x100m relays, 4x200m relays, medley relays, single sex and mixed sex races.  Kew Little Athletics Centre pays the entry fees for competing teams and provides the relay training at no cost.

As a team event it is imperative that children only sign up for a team if they are committed to training with the aim of competing at region and potentially state championships.  Training will take place on week nights and weekends. To ensure these days run as smoothly as possible, each centre is required to provide a number of officials for simple duties (e.g. setting up, packing up, writing out results, etc).  If your child is selected for a team, expect to be rostered for part of the day on a duty.

Important: Athletes must compete in Kew Little Athletics Competition Centre Uniform wearing their Commonwealth Bank patchClick here for further information about uniform guidelines and our Uniform Store opening times.
