There are not many people in the Centre who can say they have pretty much done everything but Simon Olive is one of them. When he first arrived at the Centre with his daughter Annabel, he was happy to rake the pit as the girls did long jump. This quickly graduated into being an Age Group Manager for several years ensuring that the kids had a great experience each Saturday as well as learnt more about athletics. With Annabel being a talented athlete and competing in Region and State Championships events, Simon was always happy to help out in whatever way he could.
Showing his even greater commitment to the Centre, Simon and his business Anytime Fitness at Kew became the Centre's Major Sponsor for 3 years and his financial commitment helped the Centre spend more on better equipment and coaching for the kids.
Having done his apprenticeship as VP in 2017, Simon stepped into the President role in 2018 and even further expanded the list of things he did to setup, pack-up, line marker, starter, Region delegate, Region Chief Official to name just a few. And most importantly, led the campaign with the Federal, State and Local governments to get the upgrade to the long jump runways and pits.
The Kew Little Athletics Centre has been very privileged to have had Simon in our ranks. We are so very thankful for all the work he has done. Enjoy your retirement Simon!
Kew Little Aths - Annual General Meeting 2 May, 2020
Hello Kew Little Athletes and Parents!
We hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Thank you to all the families that joined us for our Zoom AGM.
Congratulations to our new President Anna Kiely, Vice President Matt Guthridge and all other elected committee members. We still are looking for a few positions to be filled on the committee, most importantly
we need to fill the role of Kew Little Aths Secretary.
This is an extremely important role at the club and includes undertaking the following:
- communicating with LAVic
- communicating with all registered members of Kew LAC, coaches and committee members
- liasing and communication with council
- affiliation and casual tenancy applications
We also need to fill the canteen coordinator role.
If you could help fill these important roles, please contact Anna Kiely (email@example.com)
or Matt Guthridge (firstname.lastname@example.org).
All key roles will receive a shiny new KEWLAC name badge this season!
They are already designed and ready to be ordered!
