Forty three athletes from Kew competed at the Box Hill Open Day held at Wattle Park on a cold and foggy Sunday morning. Despite the wintery conditions the Kew team performed very well winning 12 individual medals (6 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) and 9 team medal results (4 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze). Well done to everyone who competed and keep up the good work. J
There is no Sunday run this weekend due to the Queens Birthday weekend and whilst there is no EMR events, there are open days scheduled in Essendon, Benalla and Geelong for that weekend that Kew athletes are welcome to attend. There are a number of Kew families who have indicated that they will be competing in the NMR event in Essendon - refer to our calendar for details and entry forms at www.kewlac.org.au . There is also the usual Saturday morning Knox run on offer at Wicks Reserve (Mel 65 H8). Refer the Knox website for details www.klac23.org.au .

Lots of photos from the cross country season have been loaded on the web site. Please click HERE to see them.
Yet another beautiful morning for Cross Country with the athletes running the hills of Ruffey Lake Park. Kew LAC had 36 children running across the various age groups, with a number of our new members competing as well. A few had to avoid a couple of dogs which I am sure made them run even faster! Well done to you all – all the results will be on our website ASAP. Congratulations to so many of you who have also had School XC as well as District. I have heard of many stories where Kew LAC children have come in the top 10 places in their XC events and have moved to the next round. Well done and keep up the fabulous training. Remember that mid-week training is happening every Wednesday from 4.45 till 5.45pm at Stradbroke Park with Damian, Kylie, Manuela and now also David (from Step Into Life). This week we will be doing more hill work so you will be ready for the Nunawading run at the Bill Stewart Aths track this Sunday with Program B and then our first Open Day the following weekend with the Box Hill Open Day at Wattle Park (Program A). Fees are due for our XC children for all the 6 Medal days of the season. Please pay Manuela or Tony the $30 per child by cheque or cash. As the Box Hill form needs to be submitted this week, can you all please confirm by reply email to Manuela Dalla Costa to confirm you are attending this first Open Day. FYI, NO run-ups are allowed for this day and NO extra medals – 1st 3 children over the line only. The listing of all our XC registered children is attached HERE so please refer to this and let me know which events you will be attending.
