 EMR Track & Field – Knox, February 20th and 21st, 2010

It’s time to consider which events our U9 – U15 athletes might like to compete in for EMR Track and Field which occurs over the weekend of February 20th and 21st, 2010 at Knox LAC. Athletes can enter a maximum of 4 events at $5.00 per event with Kew LAC paying for your first event. A draft timetable will be posted shortly to give you a guide as to events – suffice to say the 200m & 800m are always on the Saturday with the 1500m, 100m and 400m on the Sunday. Hurdles are split over the weekend. Field events are also scattered over the weekend depending on age group so it’s a good idea to plan your timetable to give you enough recovery time.

Entry Forms and payment will be handed out this Saturday that need to be returned to Kylie Italiano, Nick Carah or Manuela Dalla Costa before our Christmas breakup. Parents will be allocated duty/duties depending on number of children competing, number of events entered and duties allocated. Athletes who progress will compete at Olympic Park over the weekend of March 20th and 21st so keep these dates in mind when selecting events.

KEW LAC EMR RELAY TEAM - Competition this Sunday, 15th Nov 2009

Attached HERE is the Final EMR Relay Teams List with training schedules. See you at training this afternoon.

Click HERE for the Program to this Sunday competition at Doncaster LAC, Rieschiecks Reserve, (George St, East Doncaster - Mel 33 J11).

Regional Relays is a very busy day and can be somewhat chaotic given the large number of children and teams to organise.
The day is run by volunteers and each club is required to nominate parents to assist with a range of duties on the day. Given Kew's large team this year, we have 8 duties to fill for the full program.

Parents' Duty - Please refer to the attached spreadsheet and note the time you have been allocated for a duty. Please note - Sign on is at 8.00am for parents with 1st duty of the day.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could commit to the time allocated. Should you need to change a time, we would ask that you arrange a swap with another parent if possible.

Manny, Kylie and Nick will be on hand all day to assist with the co-ordination of children with their Relay Age Managers and assist parents with duty allocations. A description of the duty will be available at the track on the day.

If you have not been allocated a duty to date, we would ask that you be willing and able to assist if required on the day.

Letters detailing your children's events and times and details on the day (uniforms, rules etc) will be handed out at training on Wednesday afternoon. Please let Manny or Kylie know if you can't make it on Wednesday.

First events are at 8.30am, with marshalling 20 mins prior at 8.10am. Please ensure you arrive nice and early as parking can be challenging.
